Relocate software to storage cards guide
by Anton Tomov on Aug 09

articles_guidesMany owners of Pocket Mechanic Professional are not aware of the powerful capabilities of the “Relocate” module included in the product. Kerim Satirli has written an excellent article on how you can move installed applications from RAM to storage cards to free up memory on your device. You can find the first part of it in our new Articles and guides section.

This feature is brilliant I have managed to free up 67.34 MB of main storage by relocateng many of my progams to storage cards.  It works and works well.

Best regards,

Nigel

Good to hear Nigel! Did you follow the guide or did you set out to explore the feature on your own?

I started using the Relocate feature as as soon as it was introduced into Pocket Mechanic, I just followed the screens because the Relocate, like most of the Pocket Mechanic features, is easy to use.  One tip I would like to pass on is if you have ‘Relocated’ a piece of software that needs updating to a Storage Card, all you have to do is Relocate it back to Main Memory, update it and then Relocate it back to the Storage Card. Easy! Just ensure the software to be relocated is shut down and out of memory (e.g. Plugins, Startup programs). I should know I have done it for several pieces of software, works every time.

Best regards

Nigel

Interesting thought Nigel, I’ll make sure to update the guide. Thanks!
