Pocket Mechanic Professional v2.11 released
The new release of Pocket Mechanic Professional add a new module to the set of tools available - the Recover Bad Sectors module. This module performs a sufrace scan of the storage device(s) selected. Each sector in the data area is verified (read only verification or read/write pattern based verification is used depending on the configuration of the module) and when a bad sector is detected it is displayed in red color on the FAT map and the cluster to which the bad sector belongs is marked as bad (unusable) in the FAT tables. That way it cannot be used by the OS for storing files and data.Use the module to check whether your storage devices have bad sectors on them and to force the OS to not use the bad sectors for storing files and data.
Please note that write/pattern based verification can be very slow especially with large and slow storage devices.
