October 4^th 2007 - Wizcode LLC (http://www.wizcode.com) today announced a new version of the leading Windows Mobile maintenance utility - Pocket Mechanic Professional. Pocket Mechanic Professional v2.71 is a free upgrade to registered users of the application. The new version replaces the old Windows CE database module with a new one that was written from scratch. The CE database module adds support for all Windows Mobile platforms starting with Windows CE 3.0 and ending with Windows Mobile 6. Both CEDB and EDB databases are supported.

Speed settings are an essential part of Pocket Hack Master's successful configuration. A speed setting is a set of parameters used to fully describe a unique combination of CPU, memory, display and other peripheral clocks. Different processor families have different set of parameters.

In our example we will be configuring a device with an Intel XScale Bulverde PXA270 processor. The Speed configuration module of Pocket Hack Master is used to configure the speed settings.

Wizcode releases Pocket Mechanic Professional v2.43. The new version can be downloaded directly from Wizcode's server.

v2.43 is a hot fix to previously released versions 2.40, 2.41, and 2.42 and addresses issues with the new Safe Mode feature mainly related to the way registry updates are handled on Windows Mobile 5 devices. Because Windows Mobile 5 does not necessarily immediately update the registry after an application writes to it changes to the registry followed by an immediate soft reset may not get written to the registry. This issue could prevent Safe Mode from operating properly so the new v2.43 make sure the changes are correctly flushed before the device is rebooted.
