Every time I add a manual item to the speed configurations, then close back to the main menu, then re-enter the speed configurations, my added item is not there! Why?

Hello,
The speed configuration module lists the default speeds only. If you manually add the tested speed it will appear as tested in the list. We are award of this “issue” and will change the way the module works in one of the next releases.

Ok, let’s try this again, you did not read my post carefully. I did not say I added a speed that appeared as tested. I said I added a speed WITHOUT testing it (it did NOT show as tested). Then I exited the module and re-entered the module WITHOUT exiting the application, and the item I previously added (but NOT tested) was no longer in the list. Even if I add AND test it, as soon as I exit the module, it is no longer in the list. I can see any logical reason to allow adding to the default list, only to later clear it.

One other thing, when I mark a favourite and exit the module and re-enter it, the item marked as my favourite (with a star) no longer shows a star. Nothing seems persistent in this application. As soon as I soft-reset the application, ALL my favourites are NOT saved!

I also would suggest saving the states after EACH speed test, so I do not waste 5 minutes of my life have to do them all again because the last one tested locked up my PDA. If we should check them one by one, then remove the check boxes.

FYI: I did pay for this, but it is not working as expected.

I read your message and I answered it already. The speed configuration module list is based on filters, it is not persisted. So if you manually add a speed it won’t show next time you enter the list because the filter does not include it. The state (tested or not, speed index etc) should be persisted however. If you configure such speed as favorite it should be visible in the remaining modules.

There is another issue involved here - the way WM5 manages and caches changed to the registry. To speed up registry write access WM5 caches most of the registry writes. Even if an application calls explicitly RegFlushKeys() that does not guarantee the modified keys will be flushed. A common effect from that is that the registry settings are not saved if the device is soft reset before the keys are flushed. We will shortly provide a freeware tool on our website that will allow users to safely soft reset their devices without losing cached information.

Ah, I see now, didn’t realize there was a DEFAULT filter being applied. My items are in the list actually, I can see them now. It would be nice, however, if the manual filter could persist. By the way, I cannot filter over 1000 for the CPU clock, why?

I agree the entire list should be persisted and we will be adding that in one of the next releases of the applications. Currently there isn’t a device that can handle more than 1000MHz which is the reason for the limit in the filter.

What was the SI benchmark index for that speed setting?

Just a suggestion, can you add the ability to filter/show the favourites? smile
