run scandisk or defrag (check card), no errors reported.

no errors are reported on the card.

ran defrag (defrag option) error reported on card during the phase after verifying file sectors.

Hi chrisnz1947,
By “verifying file sectors” do you mean the bad sector check (it is turned off by default and is very slow) or something else? What are the versions of Defragment and ScanDisk you are running?

versions
scandisk 1.00.005
defrag 1.03.008.

not doing a scandisk check for bad sectors or reconsruct . and .. folders.

following options set-fix issues, ask before fix, verbose, convert lost chains, validate dir entries, fix mismatch, backup fat

cache entire fat, read on demand, enable write back, enable cluster cache.

the ‘verifying file sectors’ was a phase in the defrag program, after it checks the card, the directory sort etc a message ‘verifying file sectors’ displays and then the error message re problems with the card.

So actual defrag (defrag option) says problem with card, scandisk (without sector check) says card ok and defrag (checkcard) options says card ok

Please update ScanDisk to v1.03 and run a check again. If it does not find any issues again we will have to send a debug build to dump the errors to a log file.

updated scan disk to v1.03
ran scan disk with sector check (ok - no errors) , without sector check (Ok - no errors)

re ran defrag (check disk) no errors (note card reported has is heavily fragmented at 73%)
re ran defrag (defrag ) afterr checking card(veryfy fat sectors) appears to start the defrag and then errors.

Hmm, I will have to send a debug build to check what is going on… Can you please send me (via PM) your email address where I can email a debug build at? Thanks!
