Dear Journal Bar beta tester,

The alpha version of Journal Bar Symbian for UIQ 3 here.

Please note that this is a release for UIQ 3 devices only. It won’t run in UIQ 2 or S60 devices. Information on the alpha version for UIQ 2 devices can be found in this thread.

Below is the list of currently known issues:

- Radar feature in Weather view is not implemented yet.
- Infrared feature in Weather view is not implemented yet.
- Progress Dialog while updating data from the server is not implemented
yet.
- USA city list is currently disabled. The old version with Zip Code is
left instead.
- At the moment there is no way to show HTML content into JBar30 view so
the Web browser is opened instead.
- General Settings dialog need to be redone in UIQ3 dialog style.
- Weather settings dialogs (Settings and Locations) need to be redone in
UIQ3 dialog style.
- Link view - icons for the special links need to be added.
- Some special links don’t work.

I have been asked to comment in order to preserve my status.  Slightly silly, as I subscribed for the S60 test, and neither the UIQ 2 nor the UIQ 3 works on the S60 OS (or so I am led to believe).
I look forward to the beta test version of the S60 software.

And I have same questions about to work with this program. 1. “Weather” point: the mark “day of week” - today is Monday, this is the mark “now”...the next mark is “Wednesday”...where is the mark “Tuesday”? 2. What does it mean the mark with green symbol on the instrumental panel?
The minus of this program: the big quantity of memory is requires.

Thanks for the report - we have updated the UIQ 3 build. The new build change log is below:

1. All dialogs and views are UIQ3 style
2. Radar and Infrared tabs exist but don’t work yet (WIP)
3. The bug with the missing day of the week is fixed

The new build for UIQ 3 can be downloaded here.

We will provide another build in a couple of days to address the radar/infrared functionality.

Sorry, I too am posting to preserve my status but I am waiting for the S60 version as well, thanks.

Hi Sergey,
We have uploaded a new build for Journal Bar for UIQ3 here. The issue should have been fixed in the new build which also addresses issues with the Radar/Infrared view.

We have a new build of Journal Bar for Symbian UIQ 3 available. The new build can be downloaded here.

Below is the list of changes in the new build:

1. Better Radar\Infrared maintenance - the images are converted only the first time after the data is retrieved from server. The converted files are kept into the local cache. Only full size images are still converted each time.

2. Ask for Update dialog functionality fix, the following options are available:
-sync all sections
-sync the current section only

3. New view memory issue is fixed - now each time the view is opened the data is read from the file instead kept into the memory all the time.

4. New settings dialog fix - data is shown even if the News view is not opened yet.

5. All settings dialogs do not show empty items in the list now.

6. Implemented progress dialog while updating data.
