I’ve just installed Pocket Mechanic version 2.92.249 (WM6, ARM) on an iPaq 210 and there appears to be a number of things that simply do not work… :(

Scan Disk on a Patriot 16 GB SDHC card returns Zero for everything but the System Volume… Same results on a ATP 1.0 GB card, Same results with a Sandisk 1 GB ultra card
Same results with a Hitachi MD drive. Interestingly enough the Card Info app can pick up the number of files correctly, witch suggest this maybe a ‘bug’ to me.

Storage cache gives me a number of options from 2 MB to 16 MB unfortunately none are selectable, as soon as I try to select anything I get a ding when I tap OK…

OK I figured out that you have a very long button, above the three at the bottom that must be pressed, that IMHO doesn’t look like a button, having done that the scan starts and then runs out of memory, which caused a file system error on the fat tables. This can not be repaired with the program. Requiring me to run chkdsk on my PC to fix. :o(

I have a folder named “Network” (I run Net Plugin) with my network drives mapped to this folder the same as Resco file explorer uses. This drive gives an error, when I attempt to benchmark it. Even if “Network” is listed as an option for drive types in the benchmarking section. As not enough free space, I tried loading your File explorer in the hopes it would allow me to map a network drive but it doesn’t seem to support that option.

I am not sure I understand what the issue is. Scan Disk starts and runs out of memory? How do you know it runs out of memory? Do you get any specific error messages? How much free RAM do you have on your device?

FAT mismatches are only detected by Pocket Mechanic - they are not fixed because this can lead to even further corruption of data.

Network drives cannot be benchmarked since they don’t allow low-level access to their file systems.

Coming from 2.91 to 2.92 using Windows Mobile 6.0 on an AT&T;Tilt.

Programs start and then hang:
1. Registry Cleanup (starts and then acts if it is running, but an hour later, nothing.)
2. Defragment (will get through first Volume screen, but pressing “Defragment Storage Card,” then “Yes” results in nothing going on beyond that.

Had no problems with 2.91, but these two often start and then nothing.  On occasion, I’ve had to do a soft reset to get the phone to work again.

Hi Mack,
Welcome to the forums!

A similar issue was reported to us last week and we resolved it. We haven’t released it yet because we did some other minor changes to the code. I will make sure the new update gets released today, it should take care of the issues you have reported.

Best regards,
Anton

Anton:

Thanks for the replay.  Hope this gets resolved.

I didn’t see any update today though?  I am assuming it will be 2.93.

Seems version 2.92 also hangs on Scan Disk.

Is there a site where I can get back to version 2.91 which didn’t seem so buggy as far as hanging up?

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, our server had connectivity issues this weekend and we were not able to update Pocket Mechanic. The new version (v2.93) is now available, please update and let me know if it solves the issue. Check the new Pocket Alarm build as well.

Anton:

Version 2.93.252 installed.  Rebooted.  Re-registered serial number.

However, “Defragment” still stops working once it gets going.  I’ve had it running two hours and no movement is showing in either the 2 gray bars across the top nor the in the blue (with a few red squared areas) map.

The area that hangs always appears to be a fairly large file as a AVI or an IMG file.  About 25% of the 8 gig microSD card is still unused so it should work.

I gave up after 2 hours and pressed the “Stop Defragmentation” button.  All four buttons at the bottom become unusable (off).  Only way to exit is the upper X or OK to exit the program.

Don’t know why it hangs where versions prior to 2.92 never did.
