I purchased VE a while ago in lieu of Resco thinking it was a good buy and to show some support for a new program.  So far I am underwhelmed by the attention VE has received.  I visit the site and see frequent updates for Pocket Hakcmaster and Mechanic, but Virtual Explorer has the same bugs as it has always had.  Hidden files still show up, and not being able to edit the Navigation pulldown.

So far I’m dissatisfied with this purchase.

Hi Roderick,
The reason for not updating the software recently is because we are changing the existing architecture and will provide a major new version (v2) very soon. Virtual Explorer 2 will be a free upgrade to registered users. We will be announcing beta testing shortly.

Just to give you an update on the progress… We are currently redesigning part of the user interface to dramatically reduce the size of the application, add skinning support and support for alpha blending. We are also working on adding powerful search capabilities to the file and to the registry explorers. We should be able to release a new build this month. I will keep you updated.

Hello,
We will release a major new update of the application within a week. The list of changes is too long to be posted here, it will probably appear in our developer blog when we release the beta.

Still no sign of the “major update of the application within a week” any idea when it will be posted?

The release candidate is currently being tested internally. If we don’t face any stopper issues the build will be made official this week. I appreciate your patience!

Haven’t checked in awhile, good to see you are making progress.  Can’t wait to see how the new version operates.  I hope the application does well.
