Exfat

I wanted to cache a huge number of files on my 8GB SDHC (some 100k), but found that only exFat format would help.

As per microsoft http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa914353.aspx, exFat is Windows CE compatible but not WM compatible.

I use a TYTYII with WM6.1. Any ideas when
1. would WM6.1 have support for exFat?

2. Anything which pocket mechanic could do in this regard?

Possible to defragment internal Flash storage?

Just curious as to why Pocket Mechanic does not allow for defragmentation of the Pocket PC’s internal Flash memory. Perhaps iternal Flash uses a different file structure than an SD card? I ask simply due to the fact that there is very little information on the internet regarding this subject.

Thank you.

Sony Ericsson Switching Symbian UIQ to Windows Mobile?

According to the Commercial Times HTC (High Tech Computer) has received ODM orders for Windows Mobile-based smartphones from Sony Ericsson, which would mean that Sony Ericsson is planning to release its first Windows based smartphone next year. This sounds a bit weird, because a while ago Sony Ericsson acquired UIQ Technology AB so it sounds a little bit weird if they now would switch to Windows Mobile. Of course it could mean that they are just releasing one model to see how things would work. Maybe the next M-series phone will be Windows Mobile based smartphone.

If you bought the HTC P3300 you’ll be glad to know that the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade has now arrived. The P3300 is a GPS-equipped handset with a trick navigation control that HTC call the “HTC RollR”. To get the update you’ll need to have a HTC P3300 from HTC themselves and then log in to the HTC eClub.

Join the Wizcode Folding@Home Distributed Computing Team

If you wish to join the distributed computing operation Folding@Home, a hugely popular molecular simulation project and donate CPU power for the project you can do that by downloading a compatible Folding@Home client depending on your platform (sorry, no Pocket PC client yet) here.

Currently there are clients for Windows XP/Vista, Linux, Mac OS X and PlayStation3.

In case you don’t have a team yet you are more than welcome to join Wizcode’s team. To do that you need to enter the team number into the configuration dialog of your client. The team number is:

88908 (eight-eight-nine-zero-eight)

I will update the team statistics weekly in this thread.

Folding@Home is probably the largest distributed computing project and its goal is to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases. To find our more about this project please visist http://folding.stanford.edu/.
