I just installed a trial version of Pocket Mechanic Pro on my Samsung i617, but find it unusable on the device, as the program’s screen doesn’t fit the phone screen and the keyboard controls do no match the standard. It looks like it was designed for a touchscreen phone and doesn’t work well on keyboard controls,

For instance if I press the button in the center of the phone’s disk, it goes back to the previous screen instead of confirming my options.

The configuration windows jus seem to be half drawn, with text cut in the middle as if a the window is larger than the screen.

I’d really like to register this program as it seems very powerful, but the problems I’ve found make it impossible. I’m using the latest 2.98 to test. Is there a solution to all these problems?

When it asked, “do you want to delete these entries?” like a fool and complete noob I clicked “yes.”

Now my voice command doesn’t function, with a popup that says “voice command has encountered a problem ....” I’m sure when I deleted the registry entries there were a bunch of “sapi” ones—voice command. Oops.

Hi,
I bought this programme pocket mechanic yesterday but it appeared not to work well on my device.
I have samsung omnia 8gb and find enclose picture of the screen. The three boxes showed no command/or wording.
I later checked on the internet and realised those boxes should be “cancel” “back” and “next”
Any suggestion how to resolve this. I only used the trial for about 5minutes and erroneously think that it was trial version. Went and paid for registered version but still same problem.
Got this software through 2CO.COM and have already contacted them for a refund but was told to await assistance from you.

I used PM to relocate the My Documents folder to my card. It looks like the data was copied over, but when I make changes to the files on my desktop (or even add/delete files), the changes are synchronized to the MyDocuments folder on the machine, but not to the folder on the card.

Have I misunderstood the purpose of the utility? If all it is doing is copying files, I’m not clear on why registry updates are needed and what the utility does, exactly.

Sorry to be such a pain, but I’m just trying to get my head around how all this works.

Thanks!

I have seen registry hacks recommended over at XDA-dev to move the message store off to a storage card. Their procedure is to The Key in WM6 is to navigate in the registry and find:
HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
then add: “PropertyPath” value="\Storage Card\Mail” datatype="string"

I would like to know if this is better, worse, or about the same as using the ‘relocate’ function in PMP, and whatever the answer, what the implications are for other utilities that use the message store like FlexMail and other utilities.

Part of the reason I’m asking is because I have been ‘bitten’ by the IPM.SRroot bug and wonder if this might have something to do with it.

Thanks!
