Wizcode releases new version of Defragment MobileJuly 28th, 2009 - Wizcode released a new version of its defragmenter for Windows Mobile devices - Wizcode Defragment Mobile today. The new version 1.04 adds a separate shortcut in the programs menu for instant RAM defragmentation. This feature has been requested by our users. When the new version is installed it will place two shortcuts in the programs folder - the default one and a new one called "Defrag RAM". When started "Defrag RAM" will defragment the heap and will free as much RAM as possible with a single click of the stylus.

by on Jul 17

Wizcode releases ScanDisk Mobile v1.04July 17th, 2009 - Wizcode announced a new version of its storage card health monitoring and error checking application for Windows Mobile devices - Wizcode ScanDisk Mobile.

The new v1.04 inherits the file header recognition from Data Recovery Mobile and is now able to assign meaningful file extensions to converted cluster chains instead of using the generic .CHK extension by analyzing the binary file data and attempting to guess the file type. More than 180 file types are currently being supported. This greatly improves the ability to instantly recover data from lost clusters chains on the run.

Wizcode recommends upgrading to this new release to all its customers. Registered customers receive free upgrades. Non-registered users are encouraged to download and test the 30-day trial version of the application free of charge.

Download Wizcode Unformat Beta and win a free license

by on Jun 24

Wizcode Unformat Mobile BetaJune 24th, 2009 - Wizcode LLC released the first public beta version of Wizcode Unformat Mobile.

Unformat Mobile is a data recovery product for Windows Mobile that uses file header recognition deep scan techniques to recover data from storage cards. Read the full press release here.

The beta can be downloaded from Wizcode's server:

To install the beta please download the corresponding .CAB file to your device and start it using the file explorer. After the installation is finished navigate to your Programs folder (tap Start Menu->Programs) and find the application icon. Tap the icon to start Unformat Mobile.

To recover data from a storage card launch the application, choose Unformat and select the storare card you wish to recover from. Wait for the application to scan the entire card. This is a slow process because it has to read every single sector from the card and examine the data from it. Please note that even if you stop the scanning process the application will still attempt to recover the data from the sectors read.

After the scan is complete you will see a list of potential recovery candidates (files). Select the ones you wish to recover and tap 'Next'. You will be asked for a location where to store the rescued files (they cannot be saved on the same card). Wait for the recovery to complete.

We would like to propose a small giveaway of 5 licenses for the application to anybody who actually tried Unformat Mobile and was able to recover files from his card.  Try scanning an old and even a formatted storage cards - you will be surprised at the amount of info Unformat Mobile will be able to get back. Post your comments here and we will randomly pick 5 users for the contest.

Good luck!

Pocket Hack Master v5 - work in progress announced

by on Apr 02

Wizcode announces Pocket Hack Master v5April 2nd, 2009 - Wizcode LLC is working on a brand new version of Pocket Hack Master, the best selling Windows Mobile speed boosting/performance optimization utility and winner of the SmartPhone and PocketPC Magazine's Best Software Awards 2008.

The new product has plugin-oriented architecture that consists of the core Pocket Hack Master engine and a number of plugins providing low-level control for the different processors supported. The main advantage of the new architecture is the possibility to support many different CPUs and still keep the product stable and maintainable. Currently the major challenge standing in front of Wizcode's development team is adding support for the new unsupported processors like the PXA310 and the Qualcomm MS7200. Having a modular structure is the first step in making Pocket Hack Master support the new chips.

The expected beta release for the new product will be no later than July 2009. Wizcode will release a SmartPhone version of Pocket Hack Master v5 as well.

In the meanwhile any suggestions of feature requests will be very welcome by our team. Do not hesitate to send us a message!
